Biography

Alan Padfield has conducted an active civil litigation practice in state, federal and bankruptcy courts since 1992. He has represented private and publicly held businesses, institutions, estates and individuals in a variety of matters. A major portion of Mr. Padfield’s practice is devoted to the enforcement of secured creditors’ rights and/or the recovery of collateral in both state court and bankruptcy courts throughout Texas. He also handles a variety of other legal matters with experience in Probate matters, Real Estate transactions and litigation, Oil & Gas litigation , Estate Planning, and Business Entity Dissolution and Transition.

Mr. Padfield provides zealous statewide representation for secured creditors in all bankruptcy courts in Texas. Through a network of affiliated local attorneys, he has prosecuted his clients’ creditors’ rights in over 1000 cases in bankruptcy court and 500 cases in state court over the past ten years. Mr. Padfield oversees an extensive litigation and motion docket throughout Texas that typically involves from ten to thirty court appearances each week by the firm’s attorneys or affiliated local counsel. He knows the judges and their tendencies, which is essential in the zealous and efficient enforcement of secured creditors’ rights in Texas.

Additionally, Mr. Padfield’s litigation practice includes statewide defense representation of some clients’ civil litigation matters filed against those clients. Finally, he also provides representation in a variety of commercial litigation matters in addition to the above areas such as breach of fiduciary duty litigation, office and director liability claims and various bankruptcy adversary claims both, representing chapter 7 Trustees and defending bankruptcy claims asserted by chapter 7 Trustees.

Educated as an industrial engineer as well as an attorney, Mr. Padfield brings the experience of manufacturing and government contract management to the law practice. Prior to entering law school, he was a Facility Planning and Project Engineer at the Fort Worth manufacturing facility of General Dynamics Corporation, predecessor to Lockheed Martin.
